My name’s Sam and I’m obsessed with social media.

I got hooked as a teenager on MySpace and Facebook.

Nothing was ever the same after that!

I’ve helped 20+ companies with their social media strategy and content over the last few years, mainly agency-side.

Originally from Wigan and now based in Chorley, I’ve also lived in Leeds and Birmingham.

Here’s a whistle-stop tour of my experience – starting with the most recent!👇

• I’m currently a social media freelancer specialising in strategy. That means I put a plan in place before I start posting. Doing things this way means I can work closely with businesses to identify key platforms and content that have the potential to drive real business value BEFORE things get going. It saves you time and money. What’s not to like?
  
  
• I’ve worked with brands recently including Laughtercise (the UK’s leading team building provider), GIFT+HOME (an Altrincham-based boutique retailer), and Full Spectrum Roasters (an independent coffee roaster).
  
  
• Prior to going freelance, I worked for a lovely boutique agency in Manchester called Jam. I headed up their social team and worked with some incredible clients, including Constance Hotels & Resorts and Perfect Pet Insurance.
  
  
• Also in Manchester, I worked for global agency giant Weber Shandwick. Here, I worked on clients including IBM, Nestle and Princes food & drink group.
  
  
• Before that, my first experience of agency life was with WPR in Birmingham. I led on the Greene King portfolio of brands, including Hungry Horse, Wacky Warehouse and Chef & Brewer. I also worked with Benchmarx Kitchens (part of the Travis Perkins group) and REHAU.
  
  
• I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2016 with a 2:1 in Broadcast Journalism. But I didn’t initially go into social media! Starting off as ‘the work experience lad’, I worked my way up to become a breakfast show producer for Capital FM in their Yorkshire and Birmingham regions. I also worked for their rivals, Bauer, in Birmingham, too!
